Dear LAWRENCE, Chris, Shannon, Max, Peter, James and Julie, Lee, Bokhara, and Don,
Ms. Nhu is a nurse who works in a rural hospital in Phong Dien in Central Vietnam. She works in the Emergency Room and sees many sick children. Thanks to your generous support, she has now successfully completed the MEDRIX sponsored, Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI) course!
IMCI was developed by the World Health Organization in partnership with UNICEF as an international resource designed to train nurses in emerging countries on how to detect common childhood illnesses earlier rather than later.
At the beginning of the course, Nurse Nhu said that her goal was “to provide the better care for my patients, and this course has helped me reach my goal.” She said that now she will be able to help the children in her community. She is now more able to provide village children with the correct care to treat the illness, and then guide the parents or grandparents in effective follow-up care for a successful recovery. Thank you for your support!
