Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngan is a 27 year old nurse in the Pediatric Department of the Phong Dien District Hospital in Vietnam. Thanks to your generous support she has now successfully completed the MEDRIX sponsored, Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI) course!
IMCI was developed by the World Health Organization in partnership with UNICEF as an international resource to help combat healthcare pitfalls in developing countries. This course was designed to train nurses in emerging countries on how to detect common childhood illnesses earlier rather than later. At the beginning of the course, Nurse Ngan said that her goal was “to provide the better care for my patients.” When asked afterwards, Nurse Ngan said that the course had helped her reach her goal! She is now more able to accurately diagnose a child’s illness, provide them with the correct care to treat the illness, and then guide the parents or grandparents in effective follow-up care at home for a successful recovery. Thank you for helping Nurse Ngan make her community a healthier place!
