Ms. Yen is 35 years old and is the Head Nurse of the Pediatric Cardiovascular Department at Hue Central Hospital in Hue, Vietnam.

Ms. Yen is responsible for the care of many children suffering from serious heart-related illnesses. She works hard to care for the young patients in her department and helps the parents cope with the stresses and difficulties accompanying these life-threatening heart-related illnesses.

Nurse Anh is 36 years old and is the Head Nurse of the Intensive-care Unit (ICU) at Hue Central Hospital in Hue, Vietnam.

As Head Nurse, Ms. Anh is responsible for managing all the nurses and patients in the ICU.  She attended college for nursing and has been working at Hue Central Hospital for 14 years. With her responsibilities as the head nurse, she is always wanting to increase her knowledge and understanding of nursing care.

Thanks to Callan, Ms. Anh participated in the MEDRIX Nursing Assessment Training Course. The education and hands-on training she received from this course will be passed along to her nurse colleagues and to the care of the patients in the ICU at Hue Central Hospital.

Ms. Linh is the Vice Head Nurse of the Pediatric Department of Hue Central Hospital in Hue, Vietnam.  She is the assistant to the Head Nurse of the Pediatric Department and is responsible for managing the nursing care and child patients in this department. When she receives training or learns new skills, she is responsible for passing the training and the information on to her nursing colleagues in the Pediatric Department.

Truong Thi Phuong Dung is a 33-year-old nurse at Hue Central Hospital in Hue, Vietnam. She works in the Abdominal Emergency Surgery unit in the Pediatric Department. As a nurse, she cares for her child patients who come for emergency surgery from Thua-Thien Hue Province and the surrounding areas. Some of the patients travel up to 100 miles to receive care at Hue Central Hospital.

Thanks to Judith, Truong Thi Phuong Dung participated in the MEDRIX Nursing Assessment Training course. This education and hands-on training improves her ability to assess her child patients and better care for them before and after surgery. Duong Huynh Mai, age 37, is the head nurse of the Anesthesiology Department and Post Operating Room at Hue Central Hospital in Central Vietnam. She has been a nurse at this hospital for 15 years. As head nurse, she has the important responsibility of managing all the nurses in this department and making sure the patients are receiving proper care.

Thanks to Judith, Duong Huynh Mai was able to attend MEDRIX’s Nursing Assessment Training course. For one year, Phan Thi Do Quyen, age 27, has been working in the Oncology Department at Hue Central Hospital in Central Vietnam. She rarely speaks English at work or home and has never studied medical terminology in English.  She heard about the MEDRIX English Language Medical Terminology course from a colleague and was hoping to improve her English reading and speaking skills.  If she improves her understanding of medical terminology in English, she will have more opportunities to learn and develop her skills as a doctor.

Ho Nguyen is 33 and works in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Hue Central Hospital in Central Vietnam.  He has been working in this department for the last 4 years. The last time Ho Nguyen studied English was in 1996 and English Medical Terminology in 2002; however, he needs to improve his reading, writing and speaking skills to excel in his job and provide the appropriate health care for his patients.

Dong Si is 48 and has been working at Hue Central Hospital in Central Vietnam for 11 years.  He is the Vice Chief of the Blood Transfusion Department in the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center at Hue Central Hospital. The last time Dong Si studied English was in secondary school.

He desires further study of medical terminology in English to improve his understanding of what he reads in medical books and to improve his ability to speak clearly with foreigners, especially those in medical and health-related fields.

Tran Thi Kim is a 38-year-old wife and mother, and the Head Nurse of the Nursing Department of Hue Central Hospital where she has been working for 14 years. With limited training and education provided to medical professionals in Vietnam, Tran Thi Kim is always looking for ways to improve her nursing skills and knowledge to better lead her department and better care for her patients.

Ngo Thi Kieu is the Head Nurse of the Pediatric Department of Hue Central Hospital in Hue, Vietnam where she has been working since she was 22 years old.  Now 49, she is responsible for the 112 health care providers working in the 250-bed Pediatric Department.  She is an extremely busy woman at work and at home with her family.  She wanted to have additional training so she can better assist her colleagues and to ultimately better treat and care for her child patients.
