Improved intervention in childhood illness

Dr. Nguyen will now be able to care for hundreds and thousands of sick children more effectively thanks to your donations. She completed the MEDRIX-sponsored Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI) at the Pediatric Department of Hue Central Hospital, Vietnam. The course is especially important for early intervention in childhood illness. The 37-year-old doctor believes the training will have an enduring positive impact on her patients at the Thuy Chau clinic, where she has worked for 15 years, and the surrounding Huong Thuy district.

Dr. Nguyen said that the education and training would help her further develop her professional skills. “The training will enable me to properly identify childhood disease, review pediatric disease, and to fully manage each case,” she said. “The training will also help me to reach my long-term professional goal of providing better primary care for patients in the Huong Thy district.”
