Doctor Nguyen Duy Duc has completed his Pediatric Assessment Class in the Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI) at the Hue Central Hospital in Vietnam.
Dr Duy Duc will take his acquired expertise back to the Thuong Quang Clinic where he has worked for eight years. The new knowledge and skills he has gained are vital to his dedicated practice among the people he serves.
“The course will enable me to give correct disease classification and treatment,” Dr Duy Duc said.
“It will reduce child mortality and improve the physical health and development of the child.”
He said that while these were some of the immediate benefits of the course, the training would also help him reach his long-term goals of benefiting the Thuong Quang community.
“My long-term professional goals are to improve the health care service at primary clinics, which this training will definitely help me to do,” he said.
