Nurse Nga Is Keeping the Young Healthy!

Nurse Nga
Dear Richard, Seth, Sean-Eric, and Jay,

Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Nga is a 38-year-old nurse at Hue Central Hospital in Central Vietnam where she has worked for 12 years.  As a nurse in the Pediatric Department, it is always heart breaking to watch children who are extremely ill or who die from common illnesses only because the illness wasn’t detected or diagnosed earlier. Ms. Nga is always looking for ways to improve and save more of children’s lives.

Thank you Richard, Seth, Sean-Eric and Jay for teaming up to sponsor Ms. Nga for training in Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), a course designed to train nurses in emerging countries on how to detect common childhood illnesses earlier rather than later. This course has provided Ms. Nga with the ability to accurately diagnose a child’s illness, provide them with the correct care, and then guide the parents or grandparents in effective follow-up care at home for a successful recovery. Ms. Nga especially thanks Sean-Eric for donating two days of nurse training, and Jay for providing five days of nurse training.
