Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong is a 28-year-old nurse in the Pediatric Department at Hue Central Hospital in Vietnam. For the last five years, Nurse Hong has been serving children and their families who visit the Pediatric Department for medical care. As a nurse in the Pediatric Department, it is always heart breaking to watch children who are extremely ill or who die from common illnesses only because the illness wasn’t detected or diagnosed earlier.
Jennifer, thank you for sponsoring Nurse Hong’s training in Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), a course designed to train nurses in emerging countries on how to detect common childhood illnesses earlier rather than later. After this course, Nurse Hong plans to apply the theory and clinical skills she learned to improve her nursing care for the benefit of the children. This course has provided Nurse Hong with the ability to accurately diagnose and treat childhood illnesses.
Thank you!
