Reducing childhood disease through education and proper hygiene

IMG_1164
Dear Patricia, Patricia, and Sandra,

Nurse Mai Huong is a nurse at the National Pediatric Hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam. She became a nurse because her mother was a nurse, but she has realized how much she loves her job working with children. She adores her small patients and desires to improve her own nursing skills to better serve them. Her participation in the MEDRIX nurse training course is a way for her to improve her English medical language, improve her nursing skills, and become a more effective nurse. While she provides care to her younger charges, Nurse Mai Huong is also an educator to their parents, using her platform as caregiver to educate the families on good hygiene, disease prevention, and overall healthcare.

Medical professionals like Nurse Mai Huong are crucial to the ongoing efforts of MEDRIX to provide educational resources to disadvantaged communities in Vietnam. Participation in training courses gives the nurses and doctors better tools to interact with their patients and impress upon them the knowledge they need to lead healthier lives. This education aspect is paired with MEDRIX’s goal of installing water filtration and hand-washing stations in rural village schools, thereby providing the people of the villages with the tools to use the knowledge learned from these exceptional medical professionals.

We sincerely thank you Patricia, Patricia, and Sandra for your contribution.
